Grafted Pear Trees (OHxF87 rootstock, 12'-15' at maturity) - 1/2 gal container. These locally adapted pear trees have been selected and grown right here to match our seasons, soils, disease pressures and weather patterns. Whether you’re planting a backyard orchard or adding resilience to your farm, our trees offer:
Cold-hardy genetics for dependable winter survival
Disease resistance Most of the pears we offer are naturally suited to pear scab, and our wet and cold Newfoundland conditions.
Reliable yields of flavourful, crisp pears for fresh eating, storage, baking or peary. Pollinator-friendly blooms that are suitable for our climate and timing and support biodiversity in early spring.
Grafted and grown with care, our pear trees are ready to root down and grow strong in your garden or field. Support local food systems from the ground up—plant a tree that belongs here and fill your pantry with pies, jellies, and other delicacies.
PLEASE NOTE: All of our pear trees (like most pear trees) need to cross pollination in order to set fruit. This means that there needs to be two different varieties in order to set fruit. The blooming groups need to overlap also. For example two Kosui will never set fruit on either tree. Trees will only be compatible with trees that differ by one blooming group. So you need to pair either of Kosui or Chuguro with Max Red Bartlett.
